The extended version of ‘Aadujeevitham’ is in the OTT! What is the Platform

The movie ‘Aadujeevitham’ has received critical acclaim. It depicts the struggles of labourers in Saudi Arabia and is based on the true story of a man who left Kerala to work there. The film is an adaptation of Benjamin’s novel Aadu Kiyavan. The Malayalam movie was highly praised upon its theatrical release, with many viewers calling it amazing. The film team has announced that an extended version of the movie will be released on an OTT platform.

The original movie was three and a half hours long but has been trimmed down for theatrical release. However, the extended version will be available on Disney+ Hotstar in its full length. The movie follows the hardships of a labourer’s life in Saudi Arabia and has received positive reviews. It was released in multiple languages and earned Rs. 7 crore in India and around Rs. 15 crore worldwide.

Prithviraj’s performance in the movie was highly appreciated. He worked hard for the role and lost 31 kgs to fit the character. ‘Aadujeevitham’ was in development for 16 years before shooting began in 2018. Due to the pandemic, the film crew was stuck in the desert for three months, causing significant delays. After overcoming these obstacles, the film was finally completed and released in 2022 after a year and a half of post-production.

The movie also stars Amalapal, Hollywood actor Jimmy Jean Lewis, and other actors from Arab countries. The music was composed by Oscar-winning AR Rahman, and Rasul Pookutty did the sound engineering. Sunil KS did the cinematography, and National Award winner Shrikar Prasad edited. The film was released in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada, with the Telugu version being released by Mythri Movie Makers.
